The Mighty Five

The Mighty Five

Utah's five national parks, known as the Mighty Five, are  Arches, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Canyonlands, and Zion:

Arches National Park is k
nown for its more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches, including the Delicate Arch, as well as natural bridges and spires. The park's red and orange rocks contrast with the blue sky, making it a popular destination for photographers.

Capitol Reef National Park
Features most of the Waterpocket Fold, a large ridge of white Navajo Sandstone that has been folded upward by geological forces. The park's Capitol Reef is the most striking section of the Waterpocket Fold, named for its white domes that resemble the US Capitol.

Zion National Park, a favorite among park visitors, Zion offers a variety of hiking trails and bike paths, as well as red cliffs, slot canyons, and a wide green river. The Angels Landing hike is especially well-known for its views and sheer dropoffs.

Bryce Canyon National Park, located in southern Utah, this park is home to the world's largest collection of hoodoos, or irregular rock columns, and offers scenic views of large valleys.

Canyonlands invites you to explore a wilderness of countless canyons and fantastically formed buttes carved by the Colorado River and its tributaries. Rivers divide the park into four districts: Island in the Sky, The Needles, The Maze, and the rivers themselves. These areas share a primitive desert atmosphere, but each offers different opportunities for sightseeing and adventure.
